What is «Berndeutsch»?
«Berndeutsch», which might translate as «Bernese-German», is one of the numerous Swiss-German language dialects and it is spoken primarily in the canton of Berne. This canton is also the home of the Swiss capital, which is also named Berne.
Just what is a «Gwungerhung»?
This is a Bernese-German expression for a curious dog. It would be more correct to write it as «Gwunderhund» the form used in the paragraph’s title reflects the expression’s pronounciation more closely, however.
